Castelsilano features a series of murals scattered throughout the village, transforming every corner of the town into an open- air art gallery. The murals are divided into two main groups: one dedicated to Rural Civilization, created by local artist Francesco Candido, and the other composed of works by various artists exploring popular, youthful, and social awareness themes. Candido’s murals depict the daily life of past farmers, with scenes of grape harvesting, sowing, fieldwork, and domestic traditions. These vibrant paintings, with a style that recalls folk art, are spread throughout the historic center and offer an authentic glimpse into the traditions of Castelsilano. Alongside these, the village also hosts murals by different artists that explore themes such as traditional games, youth life, and the fight against violence against women. These murals, also found throughout the village, enrich the urban landscape with a strong social commitment and a contemporary vision of the community. Together, these murals provide visitors with an immersive experience of the local culture, transforming the streets of Castelsilano into an open-air museum that tells the story, traditions, and challenges of life in the village.
